6. Det nya hemmet - The new home

Bogg Maria hade en vacker minnesbild av sin far. Han satt vid vedspisen och hade det varmt och skönt. Det var kanske hans sak att sköta om elden i nya vedspisen.
När han öppnade luckan för att stoppa in ett vedträ, blev det ljust från eldskenet. Det var det där underfundiga, magiska ljuset, som framhävde hans ansikte och hår. Det var vitt och lockigt och det lyste som en gloria omkring honom.
Vid den här tidpunkten hade Boggsläkten fått större bostad precis bredvid dammen. Den var timrad i ett och ett halvt, nästan två plan. Det är logiskt att ett nybygge kommer till nu efter kaldrivningar och nyodlingar. Man fick mängder av timmer. Ved måste man också ha fått för många år framåt. Allt togs säkert till vara, för man var van att alltid hushålla.
Huset stod på huggen granitgrund, rosa och grå. Själva timret kom att rödfärgas med tiden. En lång skorstensstock placerades mitt i huset, som sig bör. Köket i sydväst var stort och ljust med två spröjsade fönster i sex rutor med munblåst glas. På hösten satte man in innanfönster. Det måste ha varit en fröjd att flytta hit från den lilla mörka stugan. Förutom köket fanns det två rum nere och två rum på övre våningen.

6. THE NEW HOME

Bogg Maria had a fine image of her father in her mind. He sat by a wood stove and had warmth and comfort. It was probably his responsibility to see to the fire. When he opened the door to put in new wood, the fire lighted up - then, unexpectedly, magically, the light shone on his face and hair. It was white and beautiful and shone like a halo around him.
At this time the Bogg family got a new larger house by the side of the dam. It was made of lumber and had one and a half, nearly two floors. It was logical that a new home should come after cold times and new plantings. The lumber had been gathered for several years. Everything was taken care of, for people were used to economizing.
The house stood on carved rose and grey colored granite blocks. In time, the wood was painted red. A long chimney was placed in the center of the house. The kitchen, in the southwest corner, was large and light with two open-able windows with six panes of hand blown glass. Inner windows were put in place in the winter. It must have been a joy to move here from the dark little cottage. In addition to the kitchen, there were two rooms on the ground level and two on the second level.
